F. Henry Ellis, III founded Ellis & Shafran's predecessor, F. H. Ellis & Associates, P.C., in 2002. Mr. Ellis received his law degree cum laude from Suffolk University Law School in 1990. From 1990 to 1994, Mr. Ellis was an Associate at the Boston law firm Goodwin Procter and from 1995 to 2000 he served Attorneys General Scott Harshbarger and Tom Reilly as an Assistant Attorney General in the Trial Division, where he co-chaired the Attorney General’s Employment Law Practice Group. Mr. Ellis has extensive experience in all areas of employment law and general civil litigation and is a recognized specialist in wage and hour class action litigation. Mr. Ellis was lead plaintiffs' counsel in the case of Mullally, et al vs Waste Management of Massachusetts, Inc., a major prevailing wage class action case that resulted in one of Massachusetts' largest civil settlements for 2009. Mr. Ellis has significant experience negotiating and enforcing employment and compensation agreements for highly compensated executive-level individuals. Mr. Ellis is a frequent speaker and moderator at employment law seminars.
Adam J. Shafran became a partner in the firm in 2011. Mr. Shafran specializes in prevailing wage litigation brought on behalf of workers in a variety of industries including construction, sewer maintenance, school bus transportation, catch basin cleaning, heavy equipment operation, garbage and recycling collection, and tree removal and trimming. Mr. Shafran has successfully litigated overtime disputes, minimum wage violations, meal break violations, tip statute violations, independent contractor misclassifications, non-compete agreement disputes, breaches of employment contracts and employment discrimination cases. Mr. Shafran also provides estate planning services to individuals and families. Mr. Shafran received his law degree cum laude from New England School of Law in 2007 and his B.A. from the University of Iowa. Before joining Ellis & Shafran, Mr. Shafran served as a Massachusetts Superior Court law clerk, where he worked closely with a number of Superior Court judges. Adam is an avid Chicago sports fan and an ardent Chicago Cubs fan.
Eliza A. Parker joined Ellis & Shafran as an Associate in 2011. Eliza received her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2008 and her B.A. from Providence College, where she majored in social science. Before joining the firm, Eliza clerked for Massachusetts Superior Court Judge Raymond J. Brassard. Eliza is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Eliza is working on several of the firm’s large prevailing wage class action cases. She is also handling significant responsibilities in cases involving race and sex discrimination, workers’ compensation disputes, and personal injury.
